🤸‍♀️This Autumn, Gavin joins StrikeUp on BOTH of our new Movement Courses:🤸‍♀️

Thursday AM Class - Solo Stories - Owning Your Kinesphere kinesphere

Following training methods inspired by Rudolf Laban’s ‘Kinesphere’, discover how to achieve postural balance and strength, and to command the space around you.

Working through a range of physical theatre techniques, this course will help you gain a deeper understanding of your individual movement vocabulary, as we work towards unlocking your unique ‘Solo-Stories’.

Courses are open to adults of all abilities ; exercises will be adapted to ensure that each student is supported and challenged throughout.

Thursday PM Class - The Creative Power of Limitation - A devising course for the COVID era.

In theatre, limitation is our friend. When forced into restricted practise, we find creative solutions that make the work even more BEAUTIFUl. 6 weeks, one masked company, 2 metres distance at ALL times.

If anyone breathes excessively loudly, we’ll all react as if they’re personally responsible for the plague.

Progressing through a range of devising techniques, we’ll use the limitations of social-distancing to create a unique piece of ensemble theatre.

In partnership with our friends at Total Communication, we’ll also learn about the limitations of masks for the deaf community and integrate some performance techniques to make our work more accessible.
